Your commitment is important to ensure that students and families can continue receiving consistent academic support and mentoring throughout the school year.
Below, you will find step-by-step instructions on setting up your Expanding Horizons Gala fundraising page and a downloadable toolkit to guide you in writing your stories and how to share your page via social media and email. We have switched from Givebutter to Qgiv to run personal fundraising pages, so the process will have changed - follow directions below!
Setting Up Your Fundraising Page
- Go to our Gala landing page (where you can also purchase your tickets).
- You can start your fundraising page two ways:
- If you are purchasing Gala tickets: Click the button that says “Get Tickets To The Gala” at the top of the page. Select your tickets under “Choose Your Registration Level.” A prompt will pop up encouraging you to “Be an EVkids Champion” and set a fundraising goal, and input your contact information. When you’re done, click “Next.”
- If you are not purchasing Gala tickets: When you click “Get Tickets To The Gala,” scroll to the bottom option and select “EVkids Champion.” The same prompt will instruct you to set a fundraising goal and input your contact information. When you’re done, click “Next.”
3. Do you want to kick-start your fundraising with an initial donation? Make it now, or click “Complete Registration.”
4. Scroll down to “Just one more step!” and create a password to access your fundraising dashboard and start fundraising.
5. Use your Fundraising Dashboard to customize your page - watch this video for step by step instructions. You can upload pictures, tell a story, and even link to your Facebook account. You can even win a badge for completing the tutorial! You can always return to your Fundraising Dashboard by going to the Gala landing page and logging in.
6. Not sure what to write, or how to start? The EVkids Champions Toolkit is full of prompts, sample language, and stories to help you inspire generosity!
1. Go to givebutter.com/EVkids.
2. Click "Fundraise." This can be found under the main image.
3. Sign up using email or login into your Givebutter account.
4. Set a personal fundraising goal and add your story. When your story is complete, click "Join this fundraiser."

5. Now that your page is set up, you will see your profile pic and story on the Givebutter page. Use the tools provided to share your page on social media and via email. Click "Share my page."

EVkids Champions Toolkit
Your Champion's Toolkit is a quick guide to make it easy for you to create your Expanding Horizons Gala fundraising page on Qgiv. Find some questions and prompts to guide you as you create your fundraising page, as well as a bank of stories that illustrates the impact EVkids has for students, campers, and families. We encourage you to copy and paste any relevant language to use in your fundraising page, emails, and social media posts.
