We premiered EV‘s 2015 video featuring a tutor-tutee pair, Annie (Boston College ’16) and her 8th-grade tutee, Amara, at the EV Gala. Heartfelt thanks to videographer Norman Lang for his outstanding work!

Annie and Amara: EV transforms lives

The EV family, friends and Sponsors gathered over 200-strong at the Charles Hotel on November 7th as we celebrated 35 years of helping Boston youth succeed! EVkids and EVcorps and college volunteers greeted guests who enjoyed pictures on the Red Carpet, bid on unique Silent and Live Auction items, mingled with local celebrity hosts Jordan Rich (WBZ/CBS) and Steve Aveson (NECN), and capped off the evening with live music, a DJ and dancing at a fun Afterparty at the adjoining Regattabar.

Dr. Roger Harris received EV‘s 2015 Youth Champion Award. Born and raised in Roxbury, Dr. Harris has dedicated 40 years to working on behalf of youth in Boston’s public schools. Dr. Harris co-founded the Roxbury Preparatory Charter School, recently retired from leading the Boston Renaissance Charter School, is Executive Producer of the Positive Youth Project and It Takes a Village educational series on Boston Neighborhood Network television, and is a former Massachusetts Principal of the Year.
